Hello, I’m Anika Iyer, the founder of Arts for Care. I’m honored to lead an organization that is deeply committed to empowering individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. My path to leading Arts for Care has been shaped by a lifelong passion for neuroscience and art.
However, it was my experience as a tutor for individuals with neurodivergence that fueled my passion towards founding this nonprofit. I decided to join a tutoring program for individuals with neurodivergence as it aligned with my passions—little did I know that the experience would open up a whole new world for me.
I am driven by a notion that being able to help people is a privilege, which is what prompted me to become a volunteer tutor in the first place. In my year as a tutor, I became aware of two things: it is shocking how little the world knows about how to accommodate neurodivergent individuals and it is even more shocking how much the world knows to stereotype against them. In this, I found the birth of a mission to empower these individuals and change the way the world unfairly looks at them.
My role as the CEO of Arts for Care allows me to channel this passion into creating meaningful change by providing art psychotherapy programs to aid their development—truly harnessing the power of their visual senses and implementing it in the most effective way.
Under my leadership, Arts for Care aims to empower individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. I believe in the power of the new generation to make a change, and with this youth-led nonprofit, I am committed to using our voice to open a gateway of opportunities for individuals with neurodivergent conditions.
